Degusta Box Review!

Subscription boxes are prolific at the moment, I think you could get one that contains most products if you look hard enough! I’m a member of several as I think they are a fantastic way to discover new products at a reasonable price, so when a friend recommended I try Degusta Box I was excited to sign up and see what goodies would arrive!

How it works!

Each month members are sent a box containing 10-15 surprise products, which are often new to the market or things you won’t find in every supermarket. The boxes are the same for all subscribers.

The boxes are delivered monthly and cost £12.99 (including postage). Currently you cannot enter any preferences, allergies, family size. This means that you may get items intended for children or alcohol, that may not be suitable for your household.

One thing I love is that the boxes are commitment free and you simply have to notify them by the 9th of the month to cancel (temporarily or permanently) your subscription. You are also able to gift boxes to friends on a minimum 3 month subscription.

My Boxes!

I have received two boxes so far in November & December. The box is well packaged to ensure that all of your surprise food gifts arrive to you in the best possible condition. In both of my boxes I was surprised at how full the box was with different items to try!

A super full Degusta box delivery!

They always ensure that the value of the boxes contents is more than you have paid for the monthly subscription. The note inside the box gives you the RRP so if you want to purchase them you know the standard price you could expect in most supermarkets. It also tells you where you can find the items stocked as some may not be available everywhere, e.g. some of my products have only been available in Tesco’s or on direct websites.

The box note also gives you some more information about the products in the box so you have some ideas about how to use them best, pairings, tasting notes and origins.

Product Reviews!

I haven’t tried all of the items in the boxes (yet!), but the ones I have tried have generally been good discoveries, although I am not sure if anything has made the regular shopping list just yet!

Reese Peanut Butter Snowman – I was super excited when this was in my November box! It didn’t disappoint, although I did have to eat it over a few days or I would have had a sugar high for days based on how big it was!

Nature’s Store Salted Caramel Popcorn bar – great high fibre, gluten free cereal bar made with popcorn, seeds, dates, gluten free oats and no added sugar chocolate topping. Very tasty & felt like a naughty treat! Will keep an eye out for these in supermarkets soon.

Maggi Fusion pots – easy to prepare and flavoursome noodle pots, with individual spice and veggie sachets inside. Good for a very speedy lunch!

Green & black’s Velvet Fruit pouches – Smooth dark chocolate coating a fruity gel centre. I preferred the blueberry to the orange flavour. A different type of sweet treat, but think I’ll stick with old fashioned malteasers!

Shredded Wheat Breakfast on the Go – I grabbed this one morning when I realised I have forgotten to make overnight oats! I was pleasantly surprised with the packet of crispy Shredded wheat complete with it’s own long-life milk pouch & spoon. I’d definitely pick this up for a true breakfast on the go again!

The Bees Knees Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Wine – This was a real discovery for me! Made from a combination of fermented sparkling grape juice & premium green tea infusion it was lovely & refreshing with a generous amount of bubbles! I will definitely be remembering this for non-drinkers at my next party!

Sleep Well Chocolate Milk – A natural milk drink designed to help you relax and get a better night’s sleep. Suitable for the whole family it is made with Jersey milk, honey & valerian. I definitely fell asleep a lot quicker than I normally did after drinking this and felt like I’d had a deeper sleep, although my dreams were much more vivid! Something I’d consider trying again to see if it does help me!

Funkin Cocktails Passionfruit Martini Shaker – A really easy, quick way to get a delicious bar standard passionfruit martini at home! Loved trying this product, will definitely be picking this up in future when people come over! Simply add vodka, ice and shake!!

I’d definitely recommend trying a Degusta Box as a way to discover new products or ideas that you may otherwise walk past in a sea of new ranges in a supermarket. You never know what you may discover!
